Great to meet you!

With more than 23 years of experience in the social work field, Jessica has worked in a variety of settings, including services for adults with developmental disabilities, child welfare, medical social work in skilled nursing facilities, and school social work. Her experience spans working with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of life challenges, transitions, and mental health concerns.

My approach to therapy

Jessica uses an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. While her work is influenced by Gestalt therapy and its emphasis on present-moment awareness, she also incorporates techniques from other therapeutic approaches to help clients gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful change. Jessica believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing and tailors therapy to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular model.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, the focus will be on getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. Jessica will ask questions about your current concerns, background, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with!

The first session is also a time for you to ask questions and get a sense of how therapy together might feel. Together, the work will be to identify goals and discussing next steps at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive. Jessica's priority is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel heard and understood from the very beginning.

Above all, Jessica values authentic connection in the therapeutic relationship. She approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, and a healthy sense of humor, creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. She believes that healing often happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted, and she works collaboratively with clients to explore challenges, build on strengths, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
