Great to meet you!

As an African American social worker educated in Alabama, I bring both cultural awareness and a deeply grounded, compassionate approach to my practice. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

My style is collaborative, empathetic, and empowering—I believe in meeting clients where they are while helping them identify their strengths and develop practical tools for growth. I draw on evidence-based practices through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens, supporting clients in navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity, and recovery.

Having trained and practiced in diverse communities, I understand the importance of cultural context, lived experience, and social environment in shaping one’s well-being. Whether you’re seeking support for personal growth, healing from trauma, or strengthening coping strategies, I’m here to walk alongside you in the process of building a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in warmth, authenticity, and respect for each client’s unique story. I utilize a person-centered and trauma-informed framework, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based Practice. I believe that healing happens in a collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment.

As a clinician trained in Alabama and shaped by both Southern values and cultural awareness, I understand how environment, identity, and systemic challenges influence mental health. My approach emphasizes empowerment, self-discovery, and practical strategies to help clients develop emotional insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.

I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their pace and personal experiences while gently guiding them toward growth and healing.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on creating a safe and comfortable space where you can share what brings you to therapy at your own pace. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing your goals, concerns, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask some background questions to better understand your history, strengths, and current challenges, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clear sense that we’re building a partnership focused on your growth and well-being. We’ll also outline a plan for how we’ll move forward—whether that means setting specific goals, developing coping tools, or simply beginning to unpack what’s been weighing on you.

I want you to know that therapy is a collaborative process. You set the pace, and I’m here to guide and support you along the way.
