Great to meet you!

I help couples and individuals build deeper connections and enhance eroticism in their lives. I studied to obtain my Certification in Sex Therapy from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. My work focuses on a number of sexual health and mental health issues, including desire discrepancies, physical concerns that limit one's ability to enjoy preferred sexual activities, erotic recovery after infidelity and/or trauma, establishment of monogamy agreements, kink-affirming care and assistance to co-create polyamorous relationship agreements. I also see clients for more generalist concerns including anxiety, depression, the general stress of living in the world today. Some of the concerns I help couples and poly folks with include: communication difficulties and strategies for interpersonal effectiveness in relationship, including coaching on scripted communication strategies; enhancement of desire, play and eroticism; recovery from infidelity; integration of kink/poly dynamics.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes unconditional positive regard as a person-centered approach - essentially, I do not believe I have the capability to empower you, but you may empower yourself as you grow and change throughout the therapeutic process. As a clinician certified to provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, I approach all of my therapeutic relationships with a sense of curiosity and a deep respect for the Self within the person I am speaking to. I offer initial (free, 15-minute) video consultations so we can ascertain if we would be a good fit. Therapy is not a lifelong commitment but I believe it is an important temporal phase as we journey together through life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I would hope to get to know you as much as you are willing to be known at the beginning of a new therapeutic relationship. I wish for our work to result in self-empowerment - that you would feel comfortable and confident making important changes to your life that will result in a higher degree of satisfaction across all your relationships. I do tend to ask a lot of questions but I am happy to answer them as well. If you are seeing me for sex therapy, you can expect to engage in a thorough evaluation of the paradigms that have intersected to construct your sexual template.

Special note regarding specialized service:

Couples Therapy and Ketamine dosing sessions are not covered by insurance. My practice of couples therapy primarily targets the relationship: intimacy, communication, increased cooperation. Insurance requires that the focus and target of "family therapy" be on one partner's diagnosed mental health condition, which does not align with my philosophy. In its truest and most robust form Couples Therapy identifies no one individual, but the relationship, the dyad itself, as the primary subject of treatment. We work as a team in Couples Therapy and always meet as a group with the exception of one individual session for each partner at the beginning of treatment.
