Great to meet you!

Welcome! Bienvenidos! Life is an unfolding story, shaped as much by the unexpected as by our intentions. My most passionate belief is that by nurturing one’s mental health one will be able to lead a fulfilling and balanced life. I am committed to supporting you and facilitating meaningful change by recognizing you as whole being who is experiencing the fullness of life for the first time. I am an LPC and LMHC Supervised by Guillermo Castañeda, LPC-S . I earned a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas’ CACREP-accredited program. Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be here with open arms and a clean slate, ready to support you as you begin this journey for yourself, in your own time and in your own way. Tambien, hablo español!

My approach to therapy

I have trained in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapy. I also work with Gottman Method with couples, as well as with parenting skills. I am particularly passionate about being present in the here-and-now, as this mindfulness fosters self-understanding and facilitates meaningful change from within.

What you can expect from me

During our first session together, it is important to me that we take the time to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. We will explore what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the experience, and the goals you would like to work toward.

I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and sharing at your own pace. Our first session may include discussing your current concerns, your personal history, relationships, strengths, and other areas of your life that may provide helpful context for understanding your experiences.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together to determine what approach feels most helpful for you. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and confident that we have begun creating a space where meaningful change can take place.
