Great to meet you!

My name is Jessica Napier, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Master of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. I bring over 10 years of nursing experience, including 6 years focused specifically on psychiatry, and I am deeply committed to care that is both clinically rigorous and genuinely human.

My clinical focus spans ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, grief and bereavement, stress, and women's mental health. I also provide dedicated support for maternal mental health — including prenatal and postpartum experiences — and I am committed to affirming, informed care for LGBTQ+ individuals, including those navigating gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender experiences.

I believe in treating the whole person — not just managing symptoms — and I work collaboratively with every client to build a plan that is both effective and genuinely aligned with their life and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, evidence-based, and built around a remarkably broad therapeutic toolkit — one I've developed deliberately to meet each client's unique needs rather than fitting everyone into a single method.

One of the more distinctive tools in my practice is Biofeedback — a technology-assisted approach that helps clients learn to recognize and regulate their own physiological stress responses. By gaining real-time insight into heart rate, muscle tension, and other body signals, clients develop the ability to consciously influence their nervous system — a powerful complement to traditional talk therapy, especially for anxiety, PTSD, and stress.

I draw on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Positive Psychology to help clients build awareness, resilience, and a genuine orientation toward what is working and meaningful in their lives. Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) addresses how relationship patterns and life transitions contribute to mood and emotional wellbeing. Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) keeps our work anchored in possibility and concrete progress. And Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Therapy, and Behavior Management Therapy round out the toolkit for clients who benefit from structured, action-oriented strategies.

I stay current with the latest research and best practices — because I believe my clients deserve nothing less.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — thorough, collaborative, and designed to give us both a clear picture of where you are and where you want to go.

I'll ask about your mental health history, current symptoms, life circumstances, and goals. I'll listen carefully — not just to what you say, but to how you describe your experience — because the nuances matter. For LGBTQ+ clients and those navigating maternal mental health concerns, I'll bring both clinical knowledge and genuine sensitivity to what can be deeply personal territory.

By the end of our first session, we'll have co-created a treatment plan that reflects your specific situation, your preferences, and your vision of wellness. This isn't something I hand you — it's something we build together.

Whatever has brought you here, I'm glad you came. Let's get started.
