Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 20 years of experience in private practice, earning my Master of Social Work from Simmons College in 2002. I began my career working in therapeutic foster care as a child and family therapist, where I supported children, adolescents, and families navigating trauma, attachment disruptions, and complex relational challenges. That early work deeply shaped my understanding of family systems, resilience, and the long-term impact of early experiences.

Since transitioning into private practice, I have continued to work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and family and relationship dynamics. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in repetitive patterns, or unsure how to manage the stressors in their lives. I believe with the right support and space for reflection, meaningful and sustainable change is possible.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I use a strengths-based perspective and integrate Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Bowen Family Systems theory, and psychodynamic approaches. This allows us to explore both present-day stressors and the deeper relational patterns that may be influencing them.

I value creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported. I believe growth happens through honest, compassionate conversations where you can reflect openly, while also being gently challenged to grow. Therapy with me is not about judgement or quick fixes - it's about building greater insight, developing a better understanding of self, and helping you to feel more confident in managing life's challenges.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I'll ask questions to better understand what's bringing you to therapy, your history, and current stressors. There is no pressure to share everything all at once ~ we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together.
