My name is Jessica and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I hold a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas in Arlington and a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. I have been counseling for the better part of a decade now working with trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, parenting issues, ADHD and life changes in a variety of setting including non-profit, private practice, inpatient and in the school district.
I believe in a person centered approach where you, the client, are in control of your therapy session. I am here to guide you through your most difficult times and help you to learn how to cope with and work through each of your struggles. Counseling is a journey not a sprint, some things may only need a few sessions whereas deeper issues may take longer. I use techniques from different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma Focused, Dialectical Behavior.
I believe anyone has the ability to change, that people are stronger, braver and more resilient than they realize, sometimes, and it is part of my job to help you find this within yourself. Even if the world is falling apart, together we can begin to piece it back together. I love helping others learn about and understand themselves better, so don't hesitate to ask questions or let me know if there is something that you don't understand. You are not alone and together you can do this!
