Some prospective clients are currently struggling with intense, daily risk, where they might require a higher level of care and intensive crisis management. If this is the case, I want you to get the specific, expert support you deserve, so I’d be happy to refer you to a therapist who states that they specialize in acute crisis care.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in CT and FL. I graduated from the University of Chicago in Clinical Social Work in 1995 and School Social Work in 1999. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship stressors, self esteem and stress.

At the core, therapy is about the relationship between client and therapist. It is within that relationship that healing, awareness and transformation take shape. I support older teens, and adults to understand their life and progress with clarity and confidence. From my own life experiences, I have learned to embrace the uncertainty, face my fears, accept my humanness and feel the magic. I want this for you too.

My approach to therapy

While I use talk therapy traditionally during our sessions, I am trained and certified in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and use aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Strength Based Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to support you. With your willingness to lean in, you can improve your relationships, manage distress, embrace your thoughts and feelings and commit to your personal values. We will unpack and make sense of your experiences, and realize your inherent strengths and resiliency. I will tailor my work based on your unique needs and circumstances.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will go over many details of your past and present and decide what you want to work on with your goals and objectives. You will get a chance to ask questions and learn about me and me learn about you. After that, you will "drive" the sessions and I will help you navigate by hearing you, challenging you, empowering you, educating you, and accepting you where you are at. Therapy is hard work, and I hope to make your process a little less painful and encourage you to be hopeful.
