Great to meet you!

I'm Jessica Spencer, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My path into psychiatry started in nursing over a decade ago, working my way from LPN to RN to my master's degree, which gave me a grounded, whole-person perspective before I ever specialized in mental health. I'm the founder of Bloom Into Balance Psychiatry & Wellness, an integrative psychiatry practice, and I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, so I'm able to see clients who are more comfortable communicating in either language.

I work with children ages 8 and up, adolescents, and adults, with particular experience treating neurodivergent conditions including ADHD and autism, alongside anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. As the mom of a neurodivergent child myself, I bring both clinical expertise and personal understanding to this work — I know firsthand what it's like to navigate the healthcare system as a parent looking for answers, and that perspective shapes how I show up for the families I treat. My clinical focus is on getting to the root of what's driving someone's symptoms rather than just managing them on the surface.

My approach to therapy

I practice integrative psychiatry, which means I look beyond a checklist of symptoms to understand the full picture — sleep, nutrition, stress, medical history, and life circumstances — and how they're connected to mental health. My care is rooted in evidence-based treatment, and I prioritize personalized plans over one-size-fits-all prescribing. My approach tends to appeal to clients looking for sustainable, non-habit-forming strategies for managing their mental health.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive intake where we'll talk through your history, current symptoms, and what's brought you in — there's no rush, and it's a conversation, not an interrogation. We'll discuss your goals for treatment and collaboratively build a plan that fits your life, whether that includes medication, lifestyle changes, referrals, or a combination. You should leave the first visit feeling heard and with a clear sense of next steps.
