Great to meet you!

Welcome, I am so glad you're here. I'm Jessica and I hope to partner with you to help you reach your goals. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Georgia Southern University. I have been practicing as a therapist since 2011 and have a passion for working with clients struggling with anxiety and other mental health issues, as well as family members of those struggling with addiction.

I have a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) certification through NAADAC and also work with clients who are struggling with substance abuse themselves. There are limits to addiction treatment in a private practice, so I also provide referrals to higher levels of care when needed.

My goal is to create a safe space for you to work through stressors, accomplish goals, and get the support you need to live a fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

I believe that you are the expert in your life and my role is to provide support and guidance through partnership with you to reach your individual goals. I am a therapist who is open to feedback, and I want this experience to feel collaborative. In practice I will use person centered therapy techniques as a basis for building the counseling relationship which will create a nurturing and empathetic environment. I cater therapy to individual client needs using evidence-based approaches to therapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based therapy, and solution focused therapies to help clients identify and overcome roadblocks to change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will use that time to get to know each other and build a therapeutic relationship. We will review consent forms and discuss what to expect with continued therapy. You will have space to share your concerns and feelings and together we will work on creating goals to help you move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
