Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Dr. Jessica Turner-Evans, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, and Qualified Supervisor.

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop practical tools for navigating challenges, and create meaningful and sustainable changes in your life.

My graduate school experiences centered around mental health and school counseling. My undergraduate background is in psychology and with most recent post-doc experience from Harvard University, I have a unique perspective of focusing on the mind, body, spirit, and emotional well-being.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and major changes in their personal or professional lives. My clinical and professional work has also included a particular focus on maternal mental health, postpartum experiences, racial and cultural stressors, and overall emotional wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I recognize that no two clients have the same experiences. Understanding that, I tailor treatment to your specific needs, goals, strengths, and circumstances.

I utilize evidence-based approaches while incorporating principles from cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based therapies. I also take an integrative approach that considers the relationship between emotional, psychological, behavioral, and physical well-being.

Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I want to help you understand what may be contributing to your current experiences and develop practical strategies for creating healing. Sessions may include reflection, skill-building, psychoeducation, coping strategies, and goal-setting. Most importantly, therapy is a partnership and we work together to identify what you need and what will help you move forward.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationships, motherhood, or simply feel like something needs to change, my goal is to provide a supportive space where you can heal, grow, and become more confident in navigating your life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you can share at your own pace. There is no pressure to tell your entire story in one session.

We’ll discuss your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, support system, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and developing a treatment plan that feels realistic and meaningful to you.

Because I value a whole-person approach to mental health, we may also explore factors such as stress, sleep, physical wellness, relationships, lifestyle, and other areas that can influence emotional wellbeing. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together toward the changes you want to see.
