Great to meet you!

Let’s be honest: life rarely moves in a straight line. Between all the complexities, ups, and downs, it is completely normal to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or a little disconnected from yourself. My name is Jessica and I have 15 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) specializing in stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/bereavement and more.

My approach to therapy

Sitting in a session with me feels like having a real, down-to-earth conversation — there is no sterile clinical vibe or blank-stare nodding here. It is an interactive, comfortable space where we laugh when things are funny and dig deep when things are heavy. Because your life is unique, I blend a few different methods together depending on what you need in the moment, and here is what that actually looks like when we work together:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in action: This looks like us rolling up our sleeves to untangle the stubborn, automatic thoughts that keep you stuck in a spiral. We’ll look at the story you're telling yourself and practice practical ways to talk back to your inner critic.
  • Existential Therapy in action: When life throws you a major curveball, we use this approach to zoom out. This looks like talking openly about the big stuff—meaning, purpose, identity, and life transitions—so you can figure out who you want to be on the other side of a difficult season.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy in action: This is where we focus on the future. We will pinpoint your natural strengths and design small, manageable, bite-sized goals that you can easily try out before our next session.

Ultimately, my approach is about finding exactly what clicks for you so you leave each session feeling lighter, heard, and equipped with tools that actually make sense in your real day-to-day life.

What you can expect from me

It is completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first visit, but please know there is no pressure to have everything figured out or to say the perfect words. In our very first session, we will focus entirely on your comfort and getting to know one another. We will start with talking about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and any questions you might have about how I work.

Above all, you are always in the driver’s seat. You get total control over what you share and the pace we set—there is zero pressure to dive into anything heavy before you feel completely safe and ready. You don't have to have it all figured out today. Whenever you’re ready to take that next step reach out and say hello, we can schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation before you schedule an actual appointment if that is what you'd prefer.
