Great to meet you!

As a licensed professional counselor, I believe everyone has the capacity to change and overcome obstacles to their personal happiness. I will help you from a holistic approach, considering mind, body, soul, relational, social and spiritual connections, in hopes of helping you develop sustainable change. I have experience in working with clients with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, self-esteem, adjustment issues, ADHD, PTSD, relational issues, parenting issues and spiritual development. Whatever you want to work on, my goal is for you to feel seen and heard. I am a mother of two teens and have been married 23 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and doing anything outdoors. I earned my Masters of Art in Clinical Mental Counseling from Liberty University. I am a certified EMDR therapist though EMDRIA and Level 2 certified Gottman Marriage Counselor.

My approach to therapy

I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how thought patterns influence how you feel and act. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you develop a curious, observing and accepting mindset towards past wounds to help bring present healing. I utilize the Gottman Method for couples counseling and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD. I will be, curious, honest and will challenge you but I will couple that with kindness and warmth. You will set the goal and pace of therapy and we will work together on what matters to you!

What you can expect from me

The first session will be spent getting to know each other. I will ask what brought you in, learn about how your life is currently going, and help you identify what changes you want to see in your life. My goal is to make you feel welcomed and comfortable enough that you can be vulnerable. We will discuss what treatment could look like and decide on next steps together. You don't have to have it all figured out the first session! We will walk this journey together.
