Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jessika Szanty, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker practicing in New Jersey and Texas. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Social Work at the University of Kentucky, deepening my clinical expertise in trauma-informed and nervous system–focused care. With over seven years of experience, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, life transitions, emotional dysregulation, and psychosomatic stress.

My approach integrates relational therapy, nervous system regulation, and mind-body (psychosomatic) awareness to support lasting change. I specialize in helping clients build emotional regulation skills, strengthen resilience, and develop greater self-trust. Together, we create a collaborative and compassionate space where healing feels grounded, empowering, and aligned with your goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered and humanistic principles. I believe each individual has an inherent capacity for growth, healing, and self-understanding when provided with a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space. I work collaboratively with clients, honoring their lived experiences and values while supporting them in developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-trust.

In addition to a humanistic foundation, I integrate nervous system informed and psychosomatic perspectives to help clients understand how stress, trauma, and relational experiences impact both mind and body. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and stress-related physical symptoms. My goal is to help clients move from reactive patterns toward embodied autonomy, fostering resilience, clarity, and confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where we focus on understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. I will ask questions to learn about your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and support systems, while also inviting you to share at your own pace. This initial meeting is less about “fixing” and more about building connection, clarity, and safety.

Together, we will begin identifying meaningful goals, whether that involves improving emotional regulation, reducing anxiety, strengthening relationships, navigating life transitions, or addressing stress-related physical symptoms. I also introduce gentle awareness of how the nervous system and mind-body connection may be influencing your experiences. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of our direction, an initial plan for moving forward, and a sense of whether our work feels aligned for you.
