Great to meet you!

I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based psychological treatments. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and am Board Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. I am also a Certified Clinician through the Beck Institute and a Certified Clinician and Trainer through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. I have been in private practice for 21 years, working with adults across the lifespan. I also serve on the Beck Institute’s faculty as an instructor and clinical supervisor. I specialize in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder with and without agoraphobia, acute stress disorder, PTSD, phobias, social anxiety, health anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder, grief, and adjustment disorder to life stressors. My approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized, with an emphasis on helping each person develop effective skills and make meaningful, lasting changes.

My approach to therapy

My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that emphasizes the connections among your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, behaviors, and life experiences. Depending on your specific needs, I may incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and process-based strategies. Rather than simply discussing problems, we will work together to identify and pursue specific goals, practice new skills, and implement changes that can enhance how you function and feel in daily life. I believe that effective therapy should provide both a supportive relationship and a clear path toward meaningful change. I want you to feel heard and understood while also feeling that we are actively working toward specific, meaningful objectives. We will regularly evaluate what is working, make adjustments as needed, and focus on skills you can use beyond our sessions. My ultimate goal is not just to help you manage symptoms, but to empower you to respond effectively to challenging thoughts, emotions, and life circumstances, so you can keep making progress long after our work together ends.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin to understand what brings you to therapy. I will ask about your current concerns, relevant history, and how these difficulties are affecting your day-to-day life. We will also discuss your goals—what you hope to accomplish through therapy and what a meaningful change would look like for you. My goal is to create a comfortable, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and feel heard. Depending on your concerns, the first session may also include practical strategies or an initial therapeutic exercise that you can begin using right away. By the end of the session, I hope you will have a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to your difficulties, mutually agreed-upon goals for therapy, and confidence in our plan for moving forward together.
