Great to meet you!

Greetings! I'm Dr. Jhonatan Marte. I'm a psychiatrist who cares deeply about providing neuroaffirming care. I spent 12 years at the University of Chicago honing a more humanizing approach to mental health. I approach care with curiosity, compassion, and meaning. I seek to create a therapeutic space where you can feel safe asking questions and sharing openly without fear of judgement. I hope that you leave each session feeling heard, respected, and empowered with practical tools to move forward and lead an authentic, meaningful life.

My approach to therapy

I believe meaningful healing comes from a deepened understanding of your authentic self: your experiences, your strengths, your fears, your relationships, and your values. You are more than a diagnosis, and I hope this sentiment is felt when working together. I integrate clinical evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy to help address symptoms and patiently explore their underlying causes. I hope to develop a treatment plan that supports continued growth. I hope to see you thrive rather than simply survive.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll take time to understand your concerns, personal history, medical history, upbringing, and goals. We'll discuss what you're hoping to achieve and explore whether medication, therapy, or both may be helpful. I hope to be an advocate and empathetic ear during times of distress. You can expect clear and timely communication.
