Great to meet you!

I'm Ji-Hae Park, a licensed clinical social worker and certified hypnotherapist based in Herndon, Virginia, with 31 years of experience working with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, and major life transitions. I'm Korean-American, and I understand the particular ways that cultural background, identity, and family history intersect with how we process pain — whether or not that's what brings you in. My practice is built for people who are ready to go deeper than coping. I see clients both in person in Northern Virginia and virtually throughout the state, and I accept Aetna and Cigna/Evernorth.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines EMDR, clinical hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based practices — not as a fixed protocol, but as a toolkit I draw from based on what you actually need. EMDR works directly with how the brain stores traumatic memory, and is particularly effective when traditional talk therapy has left you feeling stuck. Hypnotherapy allows us to access deeper patterns that sit below the surface of conscious awareness. IFS helps us understand the different parts of you that have developed in response to past experience, with curiosity rather than judgment. I believe real change happens not just through insight, but through what you feel in your body and your sense of self over time.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I'll ask about what's bringing you in, a bit of your history, and what you're hoping to feel differently about in your life — but I'll never push faster than what feels right to you. Many clients leave the first session with a sense of relief simply from being heard clearly and without judgment. You'll leave with a clearer picture of what a treatment approach could look like for you specifically, and a feel for how we might work together. If you'd like to talk before committing to a session, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation — just reach out.
