Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Jill Furumoto, and I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. For the past five years, I have been in private practice, providing therapy both in person in Lexington, Massachusetts, and through telehealth.

My approach to therapy is person-centered and humanistic, grounded in the belief that each individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can express yourself openly, explore your experiences, and feel heard and understood.

My approach to therapy

I take a person-centered, humanistic, and integrative approach to therapy, recognizing that every individual's experiences and needs are unique. Drawing from psychodynamic theory and Integrative Mental Health and Medicine, I have a diverse set of therapeutic skills.

I work with adults navigating life transitions, interpersonal challenges, divorce, grief, and the effects of trauma. I also incorporate integrative mind-body medicine techniques such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, body image concerns, stress, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, establishing a rapport. I'll ask about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. Also, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, share what's important to you, and determine whether you feel our therapeutic relationship is a good fit. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and discuss an approach that feels right for your unique needs. There is no pressure to have everything figured out—we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
