My name is Dr. Jim Fox (please call me Jim), and I’m so glad you're looking for support. Reaching out for support is the first step in making your life a little easier. I am a:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (Colorado) and a
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Indiana).

I have over 30 years of licensed therapy experience working with a diverse range of clients. I am dedicated to tailoring our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals.

My education includes

  • master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary
  • doctorate in educational psychology, research, and evaluation from the University of Northern Colorado.

I am a Master Addiction Counselor and have experience with most problems, including

  • couples problems,
  • depression,
  • anxiety,
  • adjustment disorders,
  • ADHD, and
  • PTSD.

I am an EMDR practitioner and am versed in helping those with childhood trauma, adultery, and porn addiction problems.

I work with both individuals and couples.

If you would like help from a Christian perspective, please feel free to ask. Here is some of my background:

  • I am a graduate of Denver Seminary
  • I am should graduate in September or October 2026 with a second doctorate (D.Min) in Christ-Centered Counseling at Trinity Theological Seminary.
  • I served as a pastor.
  • I was married to a pastor for 33 years until she passed away last year.

My approach to therapy

You will find that I will push to make your life better. I love listening, but I believe that action helps a person grow in a positive way.

I am an ardent practitioner of:

  • Positive Psychology (which emphasizes helping both couples and individuals to flourish),
  • Solution-focused Therapy,
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Summa Bonum Psychology (SBPsy; ask me to explain), and
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
