Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Jing Schacht, LPC, LCDC, and I'm passionate about helping individuals find hope, healing, and lasting recovery. I believe that meaningful change is possible for everyone, and I strive to provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their challenges and build healthier lives.

I earned my master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on working with adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), I have experience providing individual counseling, group therapy, treatment planning, case management, family support, and discharge planning in residential treatment settings.

My primary areas of specialization include substance use disorders, addiction recovery, co-occurring mental health concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, relapse prevention, family dynamics, and life transitions. I utilize evidence-based approaches while tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs. My counseling style is person-centered, solution-focused, and grounded in empathy, accountability, and respect.

My own life experiences have strengthened my belief in the resilience of the human spirit and inspired my commitment to helping others overcome adversity. I understand that recovery is not simply about stopping unhealthy behaviors—it is about discovering purpose, rebuilding relationships, and creating a life worth living.

Whether you are taking the first step toward recovery or continuing your journey of personal growth, I am honored to walk alongside you. Together, we can identify your strengths, address the obstacles standing in your way, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, solution-focused, and grounded in accountability and compassion. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and recovery when provided with a safe, supportive, and honest therapeutic relationship. I strive to create an environment where my clients feel respected while also being challenged to examine the behaviors, beliefs, and emotions that interfere with their well-being.

Working primarily with individuals recovering from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, I integrate evidence-based interventions with practical recovery principles. I emphasize rigorous honesty, personal responsibility, emotional awareness, relapse prevention, and healthy coping skills as essential components of long-term recovery.

I recognize that addiction often stems from unresolved pain, trauma, shame, and unhealthy patterns of thinking and behavior. My role is to help clients gain insight into these patterns while empowering them to make meaningful, sustainable changes. I also value family involvement when appropriate and encourage clients to rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and develop a healthy support system.

My counseling style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I balance empathy with gentle confrontation, helping clients challenge denial, increase self-awareness, and remain accountable for their recovery. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work alongside my clients to build resilience, discover their strengths, and create lives that align with their values and goals. I believe that lasting change is possible, and I consider it a privilege to support my clients as they work toward healing, recovery, and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to achieve through counseling.

This initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about my approach, the therapy process, and what you can expect as we work together. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and develop a plan that is tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and evidence-based tools to help you navigate challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, life transitions, or personal growth, I'll meet you where you are and work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate for you.
