Great to meet you!

I work with high-functioning women — professionals, caregivers, high-achievers, first-generation successes — who've spent years being the strong one, the reliable one, the one everyone else leans on. You don't have to be in crisis to belong here; many of the women I work with are functioning exceptionally well by every external measure, which is exactly why the internal cost so often goes unseen, even by themselves. I understand that perfectionism, chronic self-doubt, difficulty resting, and over-responsibility for other people's feelings aren't individual defects — they're adaptive responses to systems that taught you your worth was conditional on your output. If you've been in therapy before and left feeling like the goal was to help you cope with your life rather than question the parts of it that aren't working, I offer something different. I'm not here to help you perform wellness more efficiently. I'm here to help you gain insight into what shaped you.

My approach to therapy

Most therapy asks: what's wrong with you? I ask a different question: what happened to you, and what were you taught to believe about it? My work is grounded in empowerment and liberation-based therapy, which understands many of the struggles you carry as responses to real systems that are outside of your control, not personal failures to fix. Sessions are collaborative rather than clinically hierarchical — you're the expert on your own life, and we build the pace and direction together.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to slow down and actually hear each other — no checklists, no rush to diagnose or fix. We'll talk through what brought you in, but just as importantly, we'll talk about the patterns underneath it: where you learned to be the capable one, and what it's cost you to keep performing that role. I'll ask questions, so that I can better understand you. I am looking to understand what you are actually feeling, not to pathologize you for feeling it. You'll leave with a clearer sense of how we might work together, including a mix of deeper insight-oriented work and practical tools you can use right away. There's no pressure to have it all figured out by the end of the hour. This is the beginning of a relationship, not a one-time assessment.
