Great to meet you!

It takes courage to seek support, and I'm glad you're here. My name is Jo Lynn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings 16 years of clinical experience, and a unique previous 13-year career guiding growth-centered wilderness expeditions. I've developed a deep trust in human resilience through my work with people.

I support people who are navigating a variety of life challenges, including stress and anxiety, relationships, burnout, life transitions, and post-traumatic growth. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and advanced training in Somatic Psychotherapy (Hakomi and Parts Work), Mindful Self-Compassion, EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches.

My approach to therapy

Although there is much in life we cannot control, how we work with and relate to ourselves and our experience really matters- especially when we are having a hard time. My work as a psychotherapist is guided by a belief that no matter how overwhelmed, stuck, or fragmented you feel, your capacity for wholeness remain entirely intact. It's my belief that the alchemy of therapy begins with a therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe enough to begin to access your deeper wisdom. My role is to offer steady and compassionate presence to your journey of self-exploration.

What you can expect from me

We will work together to explore your internal landscape with respect, patience and steady presence. In our sessions, we’ll discuss your life outside of counseling, as well whatever is happening for you in the moment as we discuss these things in session.

Because intellectual understanding is rarely enough to rewrite old narratives and patterns, my approach integrates relational, experiential, somatic and mindful self compassion tools. We can work directly with your nervous system to create deep processing and lasting change. I tailor my approach to your unique rhythm and needs, seamlessly integrating:

~Hakomi- Using mindful, body-centered inquiry to shift core beliefs

~Somatic Parts Work- Welcoming and getting to know different aspects of your experience

~Mindful Self-Compassion- Practices and tools to move from self-criticism to cultivating an internal refuge

~EMDR-Informed Trauma Processing- Paced relational and somatic-focused trauma recovery work
