Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jo! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years of experience supporting individuals and families across community, school-based, justice and rehabilitation, and residential treatment settings. Working across these environments has shaped my ability to support adults, children, and families throughout California who may be navigating mood changes, trauma, life transitions, or simply wanting to better understand themselves. Whether you’re brand new to therapy or returning during a difficult season, I know reaching out can feel vulnerable and maybe even a little awkward at first. My goal is to provide a steady, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful change (no therapy couch required).

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s unique needs. I integrate modalities such as CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy to support meaningful and sustainable change. I don’t view any one person as the “identified patient” simply because they are seeking support; we are all shaped by the environments and systems we exist within. With that perspective, I consider the whole person and their context when developing treatment plans. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, supportive space where clarity, resilience, and growth can unfold.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a supportive and structured space where we focus on getting to know you, not just the challenges that brought you in, but your strengths, history, and goals as well. We’ll talk about what feels most important right now and begin identifying what meaningful change would look like for you. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your experiences and collaborate with you to develop realistic therapy goals that we will continue to refine and assess over time. You don’t have to have everything figured out; that is part of the process, and you are always welcome to share at your own pace. My intention is to create a calm, accepting environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, clarifying expectations, and leaving feeling heard, supported, and a little less alone in whatever you are navigating.
