Joan Killeen

Joan Killeen is a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Masters in nursing from Stony Brook University. She earned her bachelors degree in nursing from Excelsior College and associates in nursing from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in 1998. She has worked the past 4 years with patients in both inpatient and outpatient treatment. She also works with patients struggling with both psychiatric and substance use disorders. She has experience in working with a variety of mental health disorders.

Joan is a compassionate, empathetic individual who has a strong desire to empower and motivate patients to achieve the highest level of wellness. She is passionate about assisting patients to live a purposeful and fulfilling life.

Joan assists patients to focus on their positive attributes and set goals to succeed. She encourages, motivates and inspires patients along their journey to a meaningful life. She assists with education, changing negative thought patterns and the development of coping skills to overcome challenges and to develop resilience.
