Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Joan Soto Melendez, a licensed professional counselor supporting women navigating chronic illness, stress, and life transitions. I hold a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Central Connecticut State University.

I provide a holistic, evidence-based approach that also integrates guidance from the Holy Spirit and Christian principles for those who wish to include their faith in therapy. I work with women from diverse backgrounds who want to reclaim their energy, reconnect with their sense of self, and build balance in their lives.

My approach to therapy

I take a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach, creating a safe space for clients to explore challenges and build coping skills. I use evidence-based methods like DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Grief Therapy, integrating Christian principles when desired, to help clients restore balance, reconnect with their purpose, and cultivate self-compassion.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me, we’ll focus on understanding your unique challenges, goals, and what’s most important to you. I create a safe, and non-judgmental environment where you can share openly. Together, we’ll identify the approach and tools that best support you, whether it’s managing stress, navigating chronic illness, processing grief, or reconnecting with your energy and sense of self. By the end of the first session, you’ll have a clear understanding of how we can work together and a roadmap for developing strategies to restore balance, confidence, and well-being.
