Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Joanie! I know that trauma can leave you feeling stuck in the past, on edge in the present, or confused by reactions that seem difficult to control. My style is nurturing, supportive, and open-minded. I help adults better understand how past experiences are affecting their lives today and find ways to move forward that feel manageable and true to who they are.

My approach to therapy

My background is in mental health, with advanced training in trauma treatment, including EMDR certification. I may incorporate EMDR alongside other therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, comfort level, and goals. I don’t believe in forcing clients into a one-size-fits-all process. I want to understand how you see yourself, your experiences, and your strengths so I can tailor our work to you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. You don’t need to arrive with the perfect words or a clear plan. We’ll talk about what brought you in and what you want to be different. I’ll help you define goals that feel meaningful to you, because I believe therapy is most effective when the direction comes from what you genuinely want for your life.
