Great to meet you!

My name is Joanna Baez, I am a licensed physician from Mexico and a mental health advocate. I realized how much of an impact l our thoughts and attitudes were when combating a disease. I came to the U.S. and completed a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, received training as a Domestic violence Facilitator, Anger Management Facilitator, and Substance Abuse Counselor. I have 13 years of experience working as a Facilitator and Mental health provider.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Everyone deserves compassion, love and respect. My counseling style is empathetic and warm, creating a no-judgement safety zone and supportive environment. Respecting the client and empathizing with his/her challenges are the hallmark of my therapeutic approach. My approach combines CBT, Humanistic approach, Attachment-Based Theory, Client-Centered approach, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative therapy among others.

What you can expect from our first session

I consider myself a very optimistic individual, who regardless of how big or difficult the struggle is I always see something positive out of it. Being mindful and practicing empathy helps by reframing our thoughts in a beneficial way. We have to be patient and understanding with ourselves. In my experience as a doctor and therapist I have seen how self-love, patience with ourselves, and a positive attitude conquers every situation.
