Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am Joanna and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW). I bring a broad, interdisciplinary perspective to my work with individuals and couples. My professional experience includes supporting military-affiliated families, as well as clients navigating anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, family of origin issues, major life transitions and trauma.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative and individualized. I look at the whole person, not just the concern, and consider your relationships, life experiences, environment, strengths and other circumstances that may be influencing how you feel and function today. I draw from evidence-based approaches and tailor our work to your needs, goals, and personality. Together, we will explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical tools for navigating emotions and relationships, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for me to begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We talk about what you have been expriencing, what you hope will change and what you would like support with. You don't need to have all the answers or have everything figured out. You can come to our first session exactly as you are and we will go from there. I will ask questions about your current circumstances, history, relationships, strengths, and goals while giving you space to share what feels most important to you. Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable.
