Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Joanna. I'm a licensed professional counselor-supervisor and I've been in private practice for 15 years. I see therapy as an educative process, and I utilize creative, adaptive therapeutic approaches in our work together. I work with people experiencing trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, chronic pain/illness, and adjustment challenges. Treatment modalities include CBT, EMDR, KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy), DBT, somatic modalities, meditation, mindfulness, play/sand play modalities, energy psychology, and brief solution-focused therapies.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is client-centered, collaborative, creative with special focus on effective, efficient modalities such as EMDR and KAP; skills-based technology teaches that will help you learn to regulate your central nervous system such as breathwork, resourcing, DBT skills; and creating bridges to transfer what you learn/experience in therapy sessions into your everyday life. I see clients in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays, and virtually other days listed.

What you can expect from me

During our sessions, you can show up, be yourself, and let me know what's happening in your life and why you're here with me today. You can expect enough flow to be able to feel at ease and share what you need during our time together. You can also expect enough structure that we accomplish what we need to with things such as goal setting, treatment planning, exploring diagnoses, and complete or plan for any assessments. You'll receive information about trauma-responsive therapies, and have opportunities to experience client-centered, culturally-responsive, relational talk therapy. Warmth, respect, open-mindedness and humor are also part of the process.
