Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is JoAnne and I am a LCSW-R. I received my MSW from Adelphi University. Before journeying into private practice I’ve worked in mental health clinics treating dual diagnosed patients suffering from anxiety, depression, and other mental and emotional disorders. I am a CASAC having worked extensively with individuals suffering from the disease of addiction. I am also a Certified Oncology Social Worker, helping cancer patients address the plethora of emotions and issues they face daily.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic and empathetic. We will work collaboratively to incorporate your unique needs and preferences into a personalized, solution focused care plan. Together we will find your strengths and build upon them, the goal being to improve your self-esteem, the quality of your life and achieve a healthy balance in mind, body and spirit. I have a broad knowledge using CBT, MI, IPT, Grief Counseling - whichever best fits your needs in order for you to achieve your goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session I will ask many questions to best understand how we should proceed in treatment. These questions are designed so I can learn about your unique needs and together devise an appropriate, realistic and goal-oriented treatment plan. Together we will start building a comfortable, trusting and therapeutic relationship and set achievable goals.
