Great to meet you!

I’m Joanne Talbot, LMFT, and I work with adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and patterns that may be keeping them from feeling like themselves.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you’ve been carrying something difficult for a long time. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and never judged. I believe meaningful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and genuine connection.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start exactly where you are and work together from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and individualized. I integrate EMDR, CBT, DBT, experiential therapy, and solution-focused therapy based on your needs and goals.

For clients who have experienced trauma or difficult life experiences, we may work toward healing the impact those experiences continue to have on your emotions, relationships, sense of safety, and everyday life. For others, therapy may focus more on anxiety, emotional regulation, communication, relationships, self-esteem, or navigating a significant transition.

I believe therapy should be both insightful and practical. We will explore the deeper patterns beneath what you’re experiencing while also developing tools you can use in your everyday life. I will meet you with compassion while also helping you identify possibilities, strengths, and meaningful steps forward.

My hope is that you leave therapy feeling more grounded, understood, and connected to yourself.

Together, we’ll work toward helping you better understand your emotions and patterns, strengthen your relationships, build confidence, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. You may learn practical skills for managing anxiety and difficult emotions, process experiences that continue to affect you, or gain a clearer sense of what you want and how to move toward it.

Most importantly, therapy is a collaborative process. We’ll focus not only on what you want relief from, but also on the life, relationships, and sense of self you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be a comfortable, judgment-free space to begin sharing what brought them to therapy and what they hope to change. We’ll take time to get to know each other, discuss your current concerns, relationships, patterns, and goals, and begin identifying what may be getting in the way of feeling your best.

I’ll also explain how I work and collaborate with you to develop an approach that feels comfortable and meaningful. You don’t need to have everything figured out before your first session—we’ll take it one step at a time.
