Great to meet you!

"I believe people can change, heal, and create a life that feels more meaningful—even when they may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin."

I’m Jocasta Jimenez, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have experience working with adults navigating substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe enough to be honest about what you are experiencing. I work with clients to better understand the patterns that may be affecting their emotional well-being and relationships while developing practical tools to create meaningful change. I have particular experience working with trauma and substance use concerns and have completed basic EMDR training. I also draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, tailoring treatment to each person's individual needs and goals.

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship difficulties, or simply feel stuck, therapy can be a place to begin. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you recognize your strengths, and support you as you work toward the life you want.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a therapeutic relationship. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you would like to be different, and what you hope to accomplish through counseling. I’ll also ask questions about your background and current experiences so I can better understand the bigger picture.

Most importantly, you don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You can come exactly as you are. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer understanding of how we can work together toward your goals.
