Great to meet you!

Clients should know that I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. I value building a strong, trusting relationship and meeting you where you are in your journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a PhD in Developmental Psychology. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I provide services in both English and Spanish. I am committed to being culturally responsive and affirming, and I recognize the importance of understanding each client’s unique background and life experiences.

Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process and believe meaningful change happens when clients feel supported, empowered, and heard. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges and work toward greater clarity and balance in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and practical. I work with clients to identify goals and focus on concerns that feel most meaningful and relevant to their daily lives. I believe therapy should offer both insight and concrete tools that support lasting change.

I primarily draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop effective coping strategies. When appropriate, sessions may also incorporate mindfulness-based practices.

I adapt each session to the individual, taking into account developmental stage, cultural background, and personal experiences. Therapy is paced collaboratively, with an emphasis on building skills, increasing self-awareness, and supporting clients as they navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive space where we focus on getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to gain from counseling. There is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.

I’ll also review confidentiality, answer any questions you may have about the therapy process, and discuss practical details so you know what to expect moving forward. Together, we’ll begin identifying initial goals and determining whether we’re a good fit to work together.

The first session is about building comfort and clarity. My aim is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clear sense of next steps, rather than feeling overwhelmed or rushed.
