I am Dr. Ayala and hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Additionally, I earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. Over the past few years, I have worked in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) offering group, individual, and family therapy while serving high acuity clients.

My approach to therapy

I am a goal-orientated therapist who utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), person-centered, and mindfulness-based practices to facilitate growth. I am experienced in working with depression, anxiety, addiction, identity exploration, and communication barriers.

I utilize a person-centered approach to create a safe, respectful, comforting, and trusting therapeutic environment. I use a collaborative approach to set goals and guide treatment. I focus on clients exiting therapy with practical skills that can be applied to future concerns.
