Great to meet you!
My name is Joe, and I’m from Ireland- that’s why I talk funny. Becoming a therapist grew out of my strong desire to connect with people, share in their healing experience, and help them connect with themselves and accept themselves better. My hope is to teach clients skills that support this process and to walk the path with them as they grow.
I’ve been working in acute care for the past three years, with a year and a half of experience in private practice before that. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with training across a broad range of therapy modalities. My main clinical training is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have found great success working with individuals and family members of people suffering from psychotic disorders, as well as those experiencing acute depression and anxiety, including concurrent neurodivergent difficulties.
My undergraduate degree is in finance and economics, and combined with my clinical training, it helps me bring a balance of practical, relatable problem-solving and a caring, compassionate presence to my work with clients.
