Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Joey Hsiao, a clinical psychologist licensed in Colorado. I am clinically trained in both Taiwan and the U.S., offering therapy in Mandarin and English. With a decade of experience and extensive training, I specialize in anxiety, depression, psychosis, immigration and racial trauma, and intercultural relationships.

My approach to therapy

“It takes time to grow.”

This simple sentence has kept me grounded through my clinical work. Looking at our life in a developmental approach, we go through events in different life transitions, and learning these life lessons takes time and effort. My goal as a therapist is to be part of your journey, creating a supportive space for your growth and healing.

My approach is affirmative, trauma-informed, and rooted in self-compassion. I use evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions and will meet you where you are, acknowledging your intersecting identities and backgrounds, and tailoring treatment to your unique needs.

What you can expect from me

In our session, my goal is to create a supportive environment where you can "be seen" as your authentic self. We’ll begin with check-ins, process themes related to your treatment goals, work on coping skills, and debrief. You’ll have space to gain insight and develop helpful skills to continue your growth.
