Johanna Golston

Johanna Golston, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 22 years of experience in the mental heath field. She graduated from the University of Vermont with her Bachelor degree in the Science of Nursing and worked for several years at an outpatient community mental health program and then worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. She attended the University of California at San Francisco where she obtained a Masters in the Science of Nursing with a specialization in psychiatry. She spent 18 years working in both county and private psychiatric offices in California before returning to her home state of Vermont.

Johanna possesses an indomitable passion for mental health and is always striving to expand her knowledge of the most up-to-date, evidenced-based psychiatric treatments and innovations. She provides compassionate, holistic, and individualized care. She prides herself on being transparent and respectful. She is nonjudgemental and meets the client where they are at on their mental health journey, which she is honored to be a part of. She practices with the understanding that mind, body, and environment operate as a whole and should be considered in the treatment planning process.

Johanna specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and medication treatment of ADHD, OCD and anxiety disorders, and depression and mood disorders. Her thorough evaluations include exploration of risks and benefits of varying treatment options to ultimately find the client’s ideal treatment plan. The treatment planning process is individualized and done in partnership with the client. She works to build a trusting, honest, and collaborative relationship with all of her clients.
