Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Chicana therapist dedicated to supporting those who want to heal intergenerational trauma and build healthier relationships. I am both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

Many of the people I work with are cycle breakers. They are people that have spent years being the strong one for everyone else. They carry cultural pride, alongside responsibility, anxiety, and at times, deep exhaustion. Together we create a space where you do not have to translate your experience, or minimize your story. I honor your roots while helping you create something different for yourself.

My approach is attachment focused and trauma-informed. I specialize in intergenerational trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, parenting stress, and co-parenting after separation or divorce. I also work with children of immigrants who are navigating family expectations, boundaries, and identity.

With over 20 years of experience and community mental health and private practice, I have completed advanced trainings in several evidence based models in attachment and trauma.

Therapy with me honors culture while helping you create something different for yourself and the next generation. My goal is to help you move from survival patterns towards intentional living. You do not have to do this alone.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is attachment-focused, trauma- informed, and culturally responsive. As a bilingual Chicana therapist, I specialize in working with Latinx and first generation adults and parents who are navigating intergenerational trauma, anxiety, divorce, and coparenting stress.

I view many struggles, including perfectionism, guilt over responsibility and relational conflict, through the lens of early attachment experiences, and families systems. Together, we gently explore how cultural expectations and family roles shaped the ways you relate, set boundaries, and respond to stress today. My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you understand to the deeper roots of patterns, so you can respond differently.

I believe healing happens in relationship. I will meet you with compassion, and when helpful, offer thoughtful direction to help you move towards change.

For parents and divorced or separated co-parents, I use an attachment informed lens to reduce conflict, improve communication and protect children’s emotional security. Even during separation or transition, it is possible create stability and break generational cycles.

I create space to honor, cultural strengths, will also supporting you and breaking cycles that no longer serve you.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a place to exhale.

My priority is helping you feel safe, heard, and understood. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in now, but also about the bigger story, your family background, cultural experiences, relationships, and the patterns you may be wanting to change.

If you’re seeking support for coparenting, we’ll clarify the current challenges and begin identifying goals that prioritize your child’s emotional well-being and reduce conflict.

By the end of your first meeting, you can expect greater clarity about your concerns, initial goals with therapy, and a sense of direction for work together. Most importantly, I hope you feel leaving less alone, and more hopeful about what’s possible.
