Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m John Davison, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over nine years of experience helping adults navigate a wide range of mental health challenges. Having worked extensively in hospital receiving centers under the Baker Act, I bring a deep understanding of mental illness and a strong foundation in accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning.

I’ve also worked in residential treatment settings, supporting individuals recovering from addiction as they build independence and access vital resources like housing and employment. Born and raised in Tampa, I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo University and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I am proud to serve the community I’ve always called home.

My approach to therapy

My Approach

As an eclectic therapist, I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. My work is grounded in person-centered therapy—meaning your experiences, strengths, and values guide our process. I also integrate reality-based techniques to help you gain practical insights and build effective strategies for daily life.

I focus on creating a warm, respectful, and collaborative environment. While I maintain healthy professional boundaries, I aim to be approachable, consistent, and supportive—so that our therapeutic relationship becomes a space where real change can happen.
