Great to meet you!

I work with a range of age groups, backgrounds, and needs. Since 2008, I have supported preteens and teens in treatment centers, schools, and communities, and have provided outpatient counseling to kids, adults, and couples needing support with individual and relational struggles. I am experienced assisting individuals with anger/behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD symptoms, and trauma. Furthermore, I work often with individuals with social anxiety, OCD, and personality disorders, and provide support to couples and families as well. Lastly, my history with collegiate athletics has enabled me to support athletes of all ages in dealing with stress, pressure, and grief.

Life, along with joy and fulfillment, contains a great deal of pain and hardship. Our relationship with our painful thoughts and feelings can increase our ability to live meaningfully in the midst of them, or become stuck and add to our own suffering. I desire to walk with you and help you find comfort, hope, and strength in the midst of your struggle.

My approach to therapy

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for a wide range of struggles, especially anxiety and OCD, and have received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for struggles such as depression and personality disorders. I utilize concepts and principles of the Gottman Method and His Needs Her Needs with couples, and am happy to incorporate Christian faith as desired.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other. I will learn more about your history and life experiences, current and past struggles, and the goals that bring you into counseling. We will review assessments and screenings you have completed, and then I will spend time getting to know your interests and values in life. From there, we will discuss the process of therapy further going forward, and you are welcome to ask any questions that you have. I enjoy this first session because it gives me the opportunity to learn more about who you are.
