Great to meet you!

Most men who reach out have been holding it together for a long time. The work gets done, the family's provided for, everybody else is handled, but somewhere underneath there's a tension that won't ease up, a fuse that's gotten shorter, or a sense that the things that used to matter just feel flat now. Most of us were never taught what to do with that, except keep pushing. It works until it doesn't.

I work with men on anger, stress that's reached a breaking point, burnout, and the transitions that make you stop and take stock, career pressure, marriage strain, fatherhood, and getting older. I'm not going to ask you to perform some version of vulnerability that feels fake. We'll talk plainly, get clear on what's actually weighing on you, and do real work on it.

I know you do not need fixing. You're a capable man who's been carrying a heavy load without much support, and that's worth taking seriously. You'll leave sessions feeling like you covered ground, not like you sat through an hour of nodding.

If you're tired of running on empty and want to feel like yourself again, let's talk.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical and direct. I'm less interested in labels and theories than in what's actually going on in your life and what's going to help. Early on, we get clear on what's weighing on you and what you want to be different. From there, we do the work, and you should feel like sessions are going somewhere.

I draw on approaches backed by solid research, but I keep the jargon out of the room. A lot of what we'll do is make sense of patterns, the reactions, the short fuse, the shutting down, the running on empty, and figure out where they come from and how to shift them. Understanding why you do what you do isn't navel-gazing. It's what gives you the leverage to actually change it.

I won't tell you how to feel or hand you a one-size-fits-all plan. You know your life better than I ever will. My job is to bring the tools, the honesty, and a place where you can think out loud without being judged, so you can get unstuck and feel like yourself again.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting the lay of the land, no pressure to spill everything at once. I'll ask what brought you in and what you're hoping will be different, and you'll get a feel for how I work and whether it fits. You're sizing me up as much as I'm getting to know you, and that's exactly how it should be.

You won't be put on the spot or asked to dig into anything you're not ready for. We'll go at a pace that works for you. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of what's going on, what we'd actually work on, and a realistic picture of what it would take to get there. No vague open-ended runaround.

A lot of guys tell me they walked in tense and left thinking that was easier than they expected. If reaching out feels like a big step, that's normal. The hardest part is the part you've already started by reading this.
