Great to meet you!

John Watts is an LCSW, licensed counselor with 25 years of experience, providing individual and family therapy by utilizing a strengths-based, collaborative, holistic approach, allowing John to gain a clearer sense of his clients' needs. If desired, John offers a faith-based and psychological integrated approach.

My approach to therapy

With 25 years experience, Faith-based and integrating psychology coping skills, is a holistic approach where the goal has spirituality as the core, and aligning that core with all other aspects of clients' lives which helps bring about more balance, for a happier, healthier and wholesome life style.

Integrating the Gospel (Good NEWS) concept with CBT, the process of which is to make peace with the past, return to the present (mindfulness), avoiding worrying about the future, returning to a state of present mindfulness, where acceptance and gratitude can lead to more peace, serenity, and more consistent contentment, vs discontentment.

What you can expect from me

Along with CBT/Mindfulness Therapy, I use Motivational Interviewing, which utilizes the process of CBT to change negative thoughts/perceptions to more positive and productive ones, motivating the client to follow the treatment plan objectives to achieve their goals.

My approach is based on the Golden Rule-treat others in a reciprocal manner as equals, affirming clients' uniqueness, and taping their unique strengths and abilities to learn to cope, and in the process, find a more optimal level of functioning.
