Great to meet you!

I'm Jon, a licensed clinical social worker who has spent the last four years walking alongside people in both hospital and community health settings. My approach is strength based and tailored to you: eclectic, practical, and shaped by genuinely listening to where you are right now. If you're ready to start, I'd love to work with you.

My approach to therapy

In our sessions, I draw on EMDR and body-based approaches to help you process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe, alongside mindfulness and motivational interviewing to build on tools you already have. I trained through Radford University's Master of Social Work program with specialized training in trauma and stress studies, and my style is rooted in reflexive listening: I check in often to make sure I truly understand what you're saying. Whether you're working through trauma, anxiety, or substance use, I bring patience, curiosity, and respect for your dignity to every conversation.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a conversation, not an interview. I'll ask what brought you here, what's felt hard lately, and what you're hoping will feel different. There's no script to follow; we'll go at your pace, and you can share as much or as little as feels right that day. By the end, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and like you've found someone who's genuinely in this with you.
