Great to meet you!

My formal preparation to be a professional counselor began with a Master’s degree in Religious Education, an internship with ethnically diverse clients, followed by a PhD in Family Studies. I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 20 years, (licensed in 1988), and have conducted counseling in a variety of settings. While teaching in Oklahoma I learned a lot about Native American culture. I’ve also taught and traveled in Asia in which I experienced Asian life and culture.

My approach to therapy

I take an interpersonal approach which focuses on the relationship between client and counselor. I consider the client's stage in life, life history, place in the system they live and work in, and barriers to progress.

What you can expect from me

To feel understood, to be on the path to being unstuck, and and challenged to confront false ideas about themself.
