Therapy is a journey. The heart of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the patient. It is very important to me to create an environment in which you feel as safe as possible. In the end what I believe you will take away from our time together is how you felt with me.
My approach to therapy is intentional. Words and actions are important. The right words and actions at the right time can make a big difference in how you experience the therapy session. We cannot underestimate the power of being seen and heard.
I tend to adjust my approach throughout each session and over the course of the therapy. At times, I will be creative and playful, making use of humor. At other times, I will be more serious.
My guess is that part of what brings you to seek out therapy is that the way that you've been dealing with your life, thoughts, feelings and relationships isn't quite working as well as it used to.
Over time, together we will find new ways for you to interact with your world and those around you.
