Jonathan Fucella

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Colorado with 15 years of experience in outpatient mental health. For most of that time I've worked within a large health system, and I currently support patients coping with cancer and serious illness. Over the years I've worked with adults facing many different concerns, and I bring a steady, grounded presence to our work together. My focus areas include trauma, chronic illness, grief and loss, and more recently the mental side of athletic performance and how mindset shapes recovery.

My approach blends psychoanalytic thinking with cognitive behavioral techniques, so we look at both the deeper roots of a struggle and practical tools for change. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, not clinical, so I take time to understand your story before jumping to solutions. I tend to move at a thoughtful pace, especially with topics like illness, loss, or major life transitions, and I hold space for hard emotions without rushing past them. My goal is to help you feel understood, capable, and less alone with what you are carrying.

In our first session, expect a relaxed conversation rather than a formal evaluation. I will ask about what brought you to therapy now, your history, and what you hope will feel different. Sessions run 45 minutes, and I want you to leave feeling heard, even if we only scratch the surface. There is no pressure to share everything right away. My goal for that first meeting is simply to start building trust and to make sure you feel comfortable, so we can figure out together what support looks like for you.
