Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jonathan Gogal (He/His/Him), the founder of Blue Haven Counseling, LLC, where I aim to provide high-quality, intentional, and structured care. I earned my undergraduate degree from Berry College, where competing in Cross Country and Track shaped my appreciation for resilience, and went on to complete my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Middle Tennessee State University. As a licensed therapist and former clinical program director, I have spent years guiding individuals through diverse settings, including outpatient programs, detox facilities, and addiction treatment centers. My practice honors all stages of life, allowing me to provide a safe, collaborative space for adults, couples, and veterans alike. When I am off the clock, I recharge by being active outdoors, playing pickleball, watching anime, or wrenching on my 1986 Toyota 4Runner.

My approach to therapy

I take a developmentally informed and collaborative approach to therapy, ensuring that our work honors the unique strengths and challenges of your specific life stage. My style is integrative and custom-tailored to you, meaning I reject one-size-fits-all treatments and instead adapt evidence-based tools to your personal needs. I draw heavily from proven modalities such as CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, EMDR, and Trauma-Focused care to help you achieve lasting change. While I support individuals managing a wide range of concerns like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and BPD, I specialize deeply in treating trauma, grief, substance use, and self-esteem challenges. Ultimately, I strive to balance a sense of deep clinical safety with gentle challenges that empower you to transform insights into real-world resilience.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect an intentional, safe, and judgment-free environment where you are fully invited to unmask, process, and feel genuinely heard. Our primary goal will be to establish a collaborative partnership, allowing us to explore the immediate stressors or past weights currently overwhelming you. Together, we will begin defining what healing looks like for you and start mapping out clear, real-world goals tailored to your life. The outcomes we typically aim for include building sustainable self-worth, developing practical coping tools, and processing trauma so it no longer dictates your future. Your healing journey is entirely your own, but your first session will prove that you no longer have to walk it alone.
