Great to meet you!

Clients often describe me as a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative psychologist who helps anxious and avoidant people heal attachment wounds so they can feel safer in themselves and build more secure, lasting relationships. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, mood and personality disorders, trauma, anger, and relationship difficulties. In addition to my private practice, I serve as a Chief Clinical Officer at a large behavioral health organization in New York City, where I oversee care and provide leadership and guidance to hundreds of clinicians.

My approach to therapy

The work is grounded in a relational, psychodynamic approach, which means therapy focuses on the relationship we build together and how your past experiences and patterns show up in your life now. Sessions are collaborative, curious, and active: we slow down your day‐to‐day struggles, make sense of what’s happening underneath, and look for new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

Clinically, there is particular focus on anxiety, mood difficulties, attachment insecurities, anger, and the impact of trauma and stressful life events, with an eye toward helping you feel safer, more stable, and more connected in your relationships. Alongside deeper insight‐oriented work, sessions integrate evidence‐based tools from CBT, DBT, and ACT, so you can learn concrete skills to manage intense emotions, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and move toward a more meaningful, values‐driven life.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where the focus is on getting to know you, your story, and what has brought you to therapy now. We’ll talk about what you’ve been struggling with, any past experiences with therapy, and what you hope will be different in your life going forward.

The initial goal is not to “fix” everything right away, but to help you feel understood, begin to name your concerns more clearly, and see whether this feels like a good fit for you. By the end of the first meeting, we’ll usually have a shared sense of your main goals and an initial plan for how we might work on them together, at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you’re starting from.
