Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Jon Maxey, an LMFT who is dedicated to helping people grow and become the best versions of themselves. I have been trained in the Attachment perspective and have received training in Intersubjective Psychoanalysis. I have experience working with adult individuals with an emphasis on processing past instances of trauma that may be continuing to impact their lives. Additionally, I work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationship difficulties.

My approach to therapy

When working with an individual, my approach to therapy involves creating a safe and comfortable environment that focuses on the wants and needs of the person I'm working with. I apply a trauma-informed and attachment perspective as a way to help provide insights into their personal experiences. A goal is to assist them in getting to the core of their concerns in a collaborative manner.

What you can expect from me

Therapy can feel like an intimidating process. It can feel uncomfortable or scary to open up to another person. Because of that, my primary goal early on is to create a safe space where the person can feel more comfortable exploring and making sense of their internal world. When working with someone, my goal is to take time to build rapport and create a secure base for the individual so we can explore and process their intentions for coming to therapy.
