Great to meet you!

Hello, please feel free to call me Jay! I am a counselor dedicated to helping people navigate life's transitions with a sense of calm and purpose. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, but my perspective is also shaped by a decade of service as a Firefighter EMT-B. Having worked in everything from emergency services and healthcare to the Walt Disney Company and local business management, I specialize in helping others navigate career transitions, school preparation, and life pivots. My diverse background allows me to meet you exactly where you are, no matter your professional or personal path.

My approach to therapy

My style is adaptable, goal-oriented, and deeply grounded in the present. I focus on shifting mindsets from "expecting the worst" to "planning for the best" through mindfulness and awareness-building. I believe in creating a solid foundation of grounding techniques so that, as we move forward, your goals feel achievable rather than overwhelming. By reflecting on your unique timeline and experiences, we will work to improve your daily energy, productivity, and overall outlook.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my primary goal is to foster a sense of comfort and safety. We will spend time getting to know you and your story and identifying the specific strengths you already possess. You can expect a relaxed environment where we begin to set a roadmap for your progress, ensuring you leave feeling heard and more prepared for what's next. We’ll focus on how you can start "feeling good" right away while utilizing your natural talents to build a better version of yourself.
